Nikon supports AFC Asian Cup 2011

The AFC Asian Cup 2011, which is hosted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), will be held in Qatar from January 7 to 29, 2011.
The Asian Cup is a prestigious football tournament held once every four years. This time, teams from sixteen countries will contest to be the top national team in Asia.
Matches will be broadcast in a number of Asian countries, Australia and all over the Middle East by diverse media.
Nikon will support the event as an official supporter of the AFC, so the Nikon logo will be displayed around the pitches, and the company will operate a service depot to provide support to accredited photographers at the event.
Nikon will also host the Nikon Field Photographer Program which has been conducted for football events held by the AFC since 2008 and is a highly appreciated activity.
This program aims to provide local families in Asia with opportunities to feel the excitement of football by taking photographs of the players - from the sidelines or behind the goal - with Nikon digital SLR cameras before the kick off. This time, the program is scheduled to run over several matches and three pairs from Qatar - one parent and child - will be invited to each of the select matches, including games featuring Qatar’s national team.
During the AFC Asian Cup 2011, Nikon and the AFC will open a photo gallery on the official event website. In addition, Nikon will hold a photo exhibition commemorating the Asian Cup at the Shanghai showroom of Nikon Imaging (China) Sales Co., Ltd. Nikon will also conduct various other activities to pump up the AFC Asian Cup 2011.
This is the third consecutive year that Nikon has supported the event.
